This unit is a good choice for people who don’t mind investing in a high-end air conditioner. Although its price can be a bit of a dealbreaker, its features still make it stand out from other inverter air conditioning units of Samsung.
First, you don’t have to worry about the unpleasant feeling of draft air because Samsung’s Wind-Free air conditioning system has over 23,000 micro-holes that help spread air evenly throughout the room where you installed it.
In addition to that, it is built with an Air Purifier PM 1.0, so it’s literally an aircon unit and air purifier in one.
To be clear, PM means particulate matter. this is the term used to pertain to the mixture of liquid droplets and solid particles in the air.
Since it has a PM 1.0 rating, it means that the unit can filter out the particulate matter with less than 1.0 μm diameter so it can help keep you safe from dust, bacteria, and harmful particulate matter in the air.
Another thing that we like about this inverter unit is that it can be controlled via the SmartThings App.
If you have a Wi-Fi connection and a Samsung account, you will also be able to access their AI Auto Cooling. This feature is used to analyze your room’s air quality and usage patterns so it can automatically switch and suggest modes and options.
We think this is an excellent advantage for homeowners who wish to skip the hassle of figuring out the perfect temperature for their room when they arrive from work or some errands.
The only disadvantage to its built-in smart sensors is that there can be issues with inconsistent cooling. You see, if the room frequently changes temperature, you may have to input your desired temperature again since it may take some time for the unit to adjust.
Among other things, this unit is the best option for those with spacious rooms. However, if the space you’re cooling isn’t that large, we think it’s best to look elsewhere… especially if you’re on a budget.
Pros
- Has a self-cleaning and air purifying feature
- Can be controlled via SmartThings App
- Has 77% energy saving feature
- Has over 23,000 microholes to prevent a draft
Cons
- Expensive
- Longer than the usual split-type aircon units

TCL (The Creative Life) is one of the most easily recognized appliance brands in the Philippines, and one of the latest units it has released is the Titan Gold Air.
The unit’s aesthetic appeal matches its name because it’s designed with gold-plated aluminum louver fins, making it look different from the usual aircon designs. Aside from improving the look of the unit, these fins help clean the evaporator’s surface.
It’s also worth noting that this TCL has the lowest price among the air conditioning units on our list.
That doesn’t mean it’s feature-poor, though. It comes with a range of features that can also be observed on high-end brands such as smart airflow system, power cut auto-start, and self-cleaning mode.
With its 5D DC inverter, the unit can easily maintain a set temperature, so power consumption can be reduced up to 60%. On top of that, the unit is also equipped with an ultrasonic mosquito repellent (Mosqui-Go), which uses a high-pitched frequency to drive away mosquitoes.
We found this to be helpful, but we weren’t unanimous here: a couple of us didn’t like it. And for light sleepers, this can be a disadvantage: we got a few negative reviews from customers saying the AC’s ambient noise disrupts their sleep.
All in all, we think this unit has pretty solid performance considering its affordable price point. For this reason, if you’re searching for a budget-friendly AC unit for your room, this can be a good choice.
Pros
- Relatively low price compared to other units
- Features Mosqui-Go
- Has 5D DC inverter that can reduce power consumption up to 60%
- Equipped with smart airflow system
Cons
- Loud ambient noise

Daikin Industries is one of Japan’s most prominent air conditioner manufacturers, and many homeowners in the Philippines trust this brand. One of the latest units they launched is part of the Daikin D-Smart Series.
Now although Daikin’s non-inverter units are more affordable than most, we noticed that many buyers prefer to invest in their inverter types. That’s because they come with a range of practical features.
Anyway, their inverter units work as you’d expect. The D-Smart unit has the ability to speed up or slow down its compressor based on the room’s temperature, so it can help reduce power consumption.
Beyond its energy-saving feature, we also like that this unit is furnished with an All Voltage Guard. Daikin D-Smart’s specialized printed circuit boards (PCBs) are designed to withstand sudden voltage fluctuations.
This is an excellent edge, especially here in the Philippines, where power outages are almost a normal event. We think this is a good feature not just to save money but also to protect the unit from unstable power so it can stay in better condition for a long time.
The unit also has something to offer when it comes to improving air quality. The Daikin D-Smart is built with a Mold-Proof Air Filter, Enzyme Blue Filter, and Dust Collection Filter with P.M 2.5 rating.
Nonetheless, it may still not be the most affordable and energy-efficient option out there.
In any case, if you really want to invest in Daikin’s inverter air conditioner, we suggest that you go for D-Smart units with lower cooling capacities, such as those with 1.0 HP or 1.5 HP. All told, they offer the most bang for your buck, price and features considered.
Pros
- Has Mold-Proof Air Filter, Enzyme Blue Filter, and Dust Collection Filter
- Features an All Voltage Guard
- Has specialized PCBs
- Low maintenance
Cons
- Can be a bit costly

This dual inverter compressor is one of the most popular air conditioning systems from LG, so it’s probably no surprise to anyone that it made our list.
It can lower your energy consumption by up to 70% compared to a non-inverter AC, after all, so that’s already a big selling point. Of course, your total power consumption can still depend on various factors, but having an energy-saving aircon is definitely an advantage.
Another benefit of its dual inverter compressor is its fast room cooling feature. Does it work? Pretty much, in our experience.
And just like Samsung’s Wind-Free, the LG Dual Inverter can also be operated using a Wi-Fi connection, so you can control it using your phone or tablet through Google Assistant and Alexa.
Should this not be enough, it also features an energy-saving mode. If you set it in this mode, the unit will cool the room down to your desired temperature, wind down after some time, and then shut off.
Since it has twin compressors and chambers, it is also 40% faster than an aircon powered by a conventional compressor. While this mode can help save more energy, it also has a downside.
You see, when the unit’s strong compressors rev up to the max level when they adjust, the noise can reach up to 56 to 60 decibels, which can be pretty annoying.
But it’s not much of an issue for us because this only happens when it starts to cool the room down again when the temperature changes.
All told, this inverter air con can still be a practical choice for new homeowners. If you want something consistently quiet, though, this may not be the choice for you.
Pros
- Has an energy-saving mode
- Can be operated using Wi-Fi
- Can lower power consumption to 70%
- Built with dual inverter compressors
Cons
- Can be a bit noisy
- Stocks can be limited

The Carrier XPower Gold 3 made this list partly because of its premium inverter technology. With this feature, its compressor adjusts its output to achieve your desired temperature and does so with stunning efficiency.
The unit claims to only consume a minimum of ₱1.50 per hour, for instance. That can be an advantage for a household that typically uses the AC the whole day.
Moreover, if you wish to maximize its energy-saving feature, we suggest that you also take advantage of its eco sleep timer. Once you activate this feature, you can program the aircon to automatically regulate the temperature every hour until it completely shuts off.
In addition to that, it’s built with five different fan speeds, so you can choose from a variety of cooling levels such as Low, Low+, Med, Med+, or High. This can also help in ensuring that every space in your room achieves the cooling level you prefer.
We also like that aside from its self-cleaning feature, the unit is also equipped with a coil that prevents the aircon from accumulating oil and dust, so the need for regular cleaning and maintenance can be minimized.
The only downside we notice in this aircon is the four-year warranty for its compressor. Compared to other units on this list, this warranty period is a bit limited, honestly.
Carrier is known for its excellent tech support, though, so just give them a call if there’s a problem with your air conditioner. We haven’t had any trouble getting through to them in test calls, ourselves, so that’s a good sign.
Pros
- Equipped with premium converter technology
- Has an eco sleep timer
- Features five different fan speeds
- Has a self-cleaning
Cons
- Limited warranty for the compressor
